A Weekend In Yorkshire And A Bit of Family Time At Brompton Lakes

Soon we are off to enjoy a bit of family time at Brompton Lakes near Richmond and a chill out weekend. It seems so long since I booked it. I had almost forgotten about our trip amidst a rush of busy days and family life. All of a sudden the trip was imminent and it felt like a nice surprise all over again. Does that make sense? Sometimes life just carries you along doesn’t it? Life has most certainly been like that this year.

As a result this trip is coming at the perfect time. A little time to just chill out and get all the family together. My family lives all over the country, and for this weekend my parents and brother are going to join us. My other brother and his lovely family lives in Richmond so we are all going to get quality time to spend together. I honestly can’t wait!

This wasn’t how I planned it; the whole trip has been like fate. I saw the lodge first; Holiday At Home kept popping up in my Facebook feed.  Anyone that knows me knows how super fussy I am?  And Holiday At Home have the most stunning holiday properties dotted all over Yorkshire. And shhh don’t let my Lancashire born hubby read this, but I LOVE Yorkshire it is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. There I said it!

The lodges at Brompton Lakes are exactly what I would look for in a holiday lodge, luxurious and tranquil, yet the opportunity to take part in some activities, walk to a village pub and visit local beauty spots. I kept looking at the properties on offer, and in the end I contacted Holiday at Home and arranged our stay.

Along with the most gorgeous lodges, and check them out they are super modern and stylish. The lodges have huge decks to chill with cocktails, a bbq, and the option to fish if you wish too. Brompton lakes also have a steam and Jacuzzi area, tennis courts and bikes. You can arrange for treats in your lodge such as champagne, visiting beauty therapists for treatments and dine-in experiences.

So in theory I can sit on the deck having a pedicure sipping champagne whist someone cooks dinner, sounds like heaven. Chris would be rolling his eyes at this stage saying this is my reality anyway ha ha.

I can’t wait to get there, spend quality family time and share what Brompton Lakes has to offer, I also want to explore the local area a little, I love Richmond which isn’t so far away, maybe check out restaurants or a pub lunch to find that perfect balance between eating-in overlooking the breathtaking lake and exploring the local area.

I am a Yorkshire lass as I was born in Wakefield, and I must admit Yorkshire is my favourite county. When you said you were off to Richmond I thought you were going to the Richmond in Surrey lol. How lovely that your parents and brother will be coming up too, and you know how much I love a lodge holiday. Infact I have already checked out their website, and with no plans for the rest of the year I might have to twist Hywels arm. Have a lovely break away x
