Another wonderful week with lots of celebration.
Fridays are fast becoming days of great news and celebration. The last 2 Fridays saw news of awards, and I thought it didn’t get better in terms of Friday news, and then yesterday my beautiful Niece had her 12 week scan and her and her boyfriend shared the very first photo of their baby. She had told he a couple of days before but of course wanted to keep it hush hush until the scan, omg it is the hardest secret I have ever kept.
Last week I headed to Manchester for Blog On MSI.
It was such a fab day. The sessions were fantastic, I learnt so much and it was great to meet up with some lovely blogging friends. I loved the photography sessions, the sessions were run by John Arnold and Charly Dove, and were so very different yet I learnt so much.
John talked lots about the setting up and technical side of a camera, lots of which I leant on my course yet he had a different outlook on ISO than my tutor Gus. Which was fab to experiment with, he also took us on a photo walk in the steam hall. Now I am not a train fan at all, but it was great, as John really got involved watching how we were taking photos, stopping us and giving hints and tips on how to improve, I have some great photos which I am sharing next Sunday it was so good to go outside my comfort zone.
And Charly’s session was all about her inspiration, what she looks for and how she sets up a shot. And wow she is incredible; I sat feeling a little shell-shocked that I ever got into the same category as her in the BiBs. I love her passion on commitment to getting the right photo, and how she craves for detail and perfection. It was so inspiring, and made me so excited to keep learning so much more about photography.
It was amazing to see photography thorough different eyes and learn from others. I am so pleased with the photos I have taken on the back of receiving new tips and advice.
And lastly my little photo project for this week was feet, I have got a few shots, Joe was a willing model and I love the football photo of him most as it really reflects him as a person, he is always in the garden and always has muddy knees. And of course I could photograph feet without snapping the cutest feet in the house so even Toby got in on the act.
My next challenge is going to be a 7-day challenge of photos of me! It sounds indulgent and vain doesn’t it? But actually it is quite the opposite. I hate my photo, mainly because of my teeth. But I need to get brave, so firstly I have booked a few little treatments to rectify that.
Honestly I am super excited, I hate my teeth, and I would go as far as to say they totally knock my confidence. So after years of trying to pluck up the courage I have found a wonderful cosmetic dentist who is going to help me improve my smile, which I just know is going to give me so much more confidence. Yes I know anyone that knows me will not believe I have a confidence issue, but you have no idea how many pics do not make my blog because of my teeth, I am beyond excited. The process will take about 6 weeks Ican’t wait till its finished.
For the next 7 days I will be taking a photo of me, it has to be taken by me, of a part of me. I am not going to be taking lots of cheesy selfies so will need to have a think about how I approach it. But I am quite looking forward to the challenge and getting over my silly fear of taking my own photo. And hopefully will be pleased with some of the photos at the end.
