This week has been busy but fun, and I can see Chris rolling his eyes now but I have had lots of treats and a bit of Me Time, its important to invest a little time on you once in a while. Again Chris WILL be rolling his eyes and saying hmmm a bit more that a little time. But hey you only live once and if the last year has taught me one thing, it is to be loyal to you and yours and make sure that is where you invest your time. I seriously feel I have to pinch myself, the changes I had made in my life in the last 6 months were terrifying but wow oh so worth it in every single way.
Last weekend was just gorgeous wasn’t it? We spent the weekend chilling; Saturday Chris and the boys went off to the pub to watch Burnley win the league. I am not a huge football fan but to see all my boys happy, well more elated, is a wonderful feeling. Although I will admit to being very tempted to gag Chris by 7pm, because trust me I was so sick of hearing him recount the season minute by minute. But well done Burnley you made a small town very happy and very proud, and for a town that is always getting negative press, might I add not always factually correct, good news and sunshine is a welcome friend.
Sunday we spent the morning flower shopping at the garden centre, I might have gone a bit mad! And a lovely afternoon enjoying drinks with some of our best friends, we met though the boys, and have been great friends ever since. Memories are made of such happy afternoons, great friends, sunshine, laughter and happy children.
Monday was spent with another bestie, and woohooo the weather was on our side as we visited our local spa for a spa day. We sat and lounged around the pool sunning ourselves sipping diet coke (Next time we will be prepared and drink cocktails but had the school run to do) And putting the world to rights, I decided to have a day off from blogging so no camera and no tweeting, it felt odd I must say but we had a wonderful day.
In between I got the time to make this gorgeous cheesecake which I have to say went down a little too well, the Christie boys loved it! It was oh so good, so I now plan to find a lower fat cheesecake recipe if there is such a thing?
And take Toby for lots of walks, there is nothing like going for a walk on a hazy summers evening, is there?
This weekend I am off to London to work on a very exciting project with Mumsnet and the lovely Amy and Caro, but before that we have decided to check into a beautiful hotel and have a bit of a girls catch up, maybe the odd cocktail but more on that later.
My photo challenge went ok, I haven’t finished yet, I must say the thought of posting photos of yourself every day feels a huge pressure, but I felt like towards the end of the week I got a little braver! For next weeks challenge I am going to try to capture the everyday moments at home so watch out Christie boys I will be lurking round corners with that camera.
And there we have an absolutely lovely week, lots of smiles, happiness and family and friends time.
