I have chosen flowers this week for my Sunday photo. Flowers and Sunshine has really been the theme of the week.
Hasn’t the weather been gorgeous? At last we are enjoying the sun and I so hope it stays around until the end of September, wouldn’t that be amazing.
This week I was brave and bought Gerber’s, they usually wilt within a couple of days, I have never been able to keep them looking fresh. But after my recent tulip success I decided to give them another go, and hoorah if you change the water every day they live so much longer. I also gave the stems a trim midweek, and after a week they are still going strong. They are such beautiful flowers aren’t they? I think quite possibly my favourite.
I talked yesterday about how much I learnt at Blog On MSI and used some of the inspiration I came away with when photographing these gorgeous Gerber’s. The detail is incredible close up, isn’t nature amazing.
These photos just show the difference light can make too, I took the last 2 in the garden in the afternoon, and the colour appears so much pinker and brighter, yet in reality they are much more like the delicate pinky, peach shade to the naked eye.
Gorgeous daisies – what a lovely colour they are 🙂
Thank Louise, they are so pretty aren’t they ? x
Thanks Louise, they are so pretty aren’t they x

Fantastic colours – and, yes, the improved weather has been wonderful. Let’s hope it lasts, but I’m definitely going to enjoy it while I can in case it doesn’t. Hopefully this year we will have a proper summer rather than just a couple of nice weeks in June. Fingers crossed.
I know Tim, today had been gorgeous, everyone smiles so much more in this gorgeous weather so fingers crossed x

Both the flowers and your photos are beautiful. I love the delicate pink colour of inside flowers, it’s amazing the difference in colour when you took them outside.
Thanks Anne, I know its incredible the difference the light has made x
They are gorgeous photos and I never knew that’s how to keep gerberas alive for longer. My green fingered gardener told me to put a bit of sugar in the vase and that works really well too!
Ooh I will try that too Tas, it has taken me years to master keeping flowers alive ha ha x
Your photos are really coming on leaps and bounds. I love this beautiful image – so feminine. #MySundayPhoto
Ah thanks Helena, I am loving learning so much x
I love Gerberas, they’re one of my favourite flowers, and these are a gorgeous colour!
Do you know they are mine now I think Sally, although I think thats changes weekly depending on what I buy ha ha x
Beautiful.
Gerbera’s are my favourite flower.
If I have them amongst bunches I tend to use a bit of very fine floral/craft wire just to steady them, works a treat 🙂
Oh thats sounds like a great idea Jayne although a friend recently told me the key is lots of fresh water, as they are vert thirsty x
Oh goodness, three images are immaculate. Such beautiful soft colours, simple yet perfect x
