Being 10 is a funny age, you are giddy with excitement to be a teen as in your head you are just oh so grown up. You start to see younger kids, who you would have happily played with last year as babies. And you so want to do all the stuff your older brother does; such a going into town, having social media and having a mobile phone but people keep telling you, you are not ready for it yet, you are not old enough.
Yet in your own head you are hip and cool, listen to all the right music and have most definitely developed your own style, which is great until to you want to climb and tree, or play football in the mud. But these things are ok right? Getting muddy in new clothes and shoes is ok, because you are cool!
And that is how we are rolling in the Christie household at the moment; style has become a huge deal. Yep, at 10! Both the boys developed a sense of style quite young, I have friends whose teens will happily wear whatever is put in front of them.
I am that mad woman you see in Selfridges face timing her kids around the clothing department because they want to look cool, but they don’t want to go out to shop for it. Thank for lord for online shopping. Because on those days of weak Internet signal they can be very frustrating shopping trips.
In fact only weeks ago as I was bickering over the phone with Jack over what colour a coat was, that quite frankly I would have given my right arm for at his age. Don’t get me wrong I did well on the teen clothing front. But Michael Kors may have been pushing it a bit! Anyway I digress.
We were discussing whether it was green or black, when a man stopped me and said I just want to confirm it’s not your eyes the coat is black, you look like you could do with a hand. I must have looked mad. From that moment onwards I vowed not to shop for them unless they were present or shop online.
That brings us to today and Joe’s new little purchase from Kurt Geiger. I had no idea Kurt Geiger sold such cool kids shoes, and so many cool designs and brands.
Our boys do have big feet, and this is always a huge bone of contention for me, as some stores capitalise on this and at size 4 you become the wearer of adult shoes! Really, at the age of 10? Cool for kids not so much for the pocket, and it always seems so unfair.
Anyhow if you do have a 10 year old with big feet, at Kurt Geiger not only can you get cool kids shoes, there is also a great selection of brands. This makes online shopping with a 10 year old so very much easier. But lets be honest, I never really needed to test the quality of these shoes did I? I know they a great quality, comfortable and wash well, I know the service shopping at Kurt Geiger is second to none, I am a customer, I love the brand.
But Joe wanted to put them to the test; he knew these we going in the holiday suitcase and wanted to road test them. So what parent doesn’t love indulging their kids a little hey? But please excuse the ever so ugly football; we have loads of beautiful shiny footballs. But apparently this one old scraggy one is his lucky football.
And check out my little mood board below of a few Kurt Geiger online kids faves of mine, I don’t think I would ever get bored of shoe shopping no matter who I am buying for.
