My Weekly Round-Up And Easter

2nd April 2016 by SarahJChristie 9 Comments

I didn’t get time to write my weekly round-up last week as we had a houseful. Easter has been so odd this year; it has affected everybody so differently. In our area the schools only closed for the weekend, and are then closed in 2 weeks. In the next borough they are closed now, it’s so odd!

My Weekly Round-Up And Easter

We spent Easter weekend with good friends who came to visit us for the weekend; we always have such a wonderful time when we get together. Theresa is my oldest friend, we met when we were 10 and have been the best of friends ever since that day. It was wonderful getting the chance to shop together, and chat over lovely meals and wine. There is quite a gap in the ages of our children ranging from 10 to 20 yet they all get on so well, of course that makes life too much easier.

My Weekly Round-Up And Easter

I have also rekindled my love for baking and spent a whole day playing in the kitchen and making Easter Cup Cakes, I had forgotten how therapeutic I found it, I am no expert by any strength of the imagination, but love creating, so have decided to incorporate this into my blog a little more.

Easter Cup Cakes And Chill Time

I have also been doing lots of experimenting with my camera and using the manual settings, not always getting it right I might add. But am getting more of an understanding of what does and doesn’t work. Last week my photography course finished, I was sad that it had come to an end, and so very glad I decided to take the plunge and do the course.

What I don’t want to do now is stagnate, I want to keep on learning and hopefully improving so have decided to set myself and weekly challenge, I am enlisting the help of my A Beautiful Mess book which has lots of challenges and am going to work though the challenges. Challenge one is to have fun with colour, so I challenge myself to take 2-4 colourful images throughout the week. I suppose the aim of this is to always have my eyes open to my surroundings, and see what you normally would not!

My Weekly Round-Up And Easter

And lastly in true form the Northern weather threw us a total curveball this week, just when we were settling into spring nicely. Jack went off to school Tuesday morning; Joe and I were at home as Joe had an inset day. It started a bit of a grey day, but at 8.30 it started snowing, big fat giant snow flakes, in half an hour it was thick a getting deep. Yes, it was beautiful but I will be honest, I am fed up with bad weather and ready for spring.

My Weekly Round-Up And Easter

At lunchtime it started raining and within a couple of hours it was like it had never happened. Hopefully that is the last see will see of snow for at least 10 months, I am ready for sun. So in search of warmer weather we have booked a lovely little post Easter holiday to Greece and I can’t wait, I will share more next week but arghhh sunshine here we come.

The cupcakes look fabulous! That must feel strange about the holidays. My girl broke up the day before Good Friday so has next week off, too. Oh to get some sunshine – Greece sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing with #WotW
