Its been a funny old week, a time of celebration, feeling proud, excited and reflecting on how bloomin well lucky I am. When I started my little blog just over 2 years ago I had no idea, I was in total ignorant bliss as to what exactly is involved in this incredible world. If you had sat me down and told me exactly what I would need to learn to survive and keep my blog going I would have run for the hills.
But once you start it is addictive, I was like a sponge wanting to learn more, reading, watching, trying to work out what it was that made a successful blog, how do you measure yourself, and how do you improve. Then in January I enrolled in a photography course and OMG it was like having am epiphany.
My tutor was incredible, so inspirational, I can’t believe what he taught me in that 10 weeks, and ever since I have pottered about with my camera loving life through a lens. Seeing everything as a photograph, setting myself little challenges to make me more aware of my surroundings. I still have so much to learn but I am loving learning.
My blog has also given us as a family so many wonderful opportunities and trips. Sharing our family memories has been so much fun. We have loved every single adventure, walks in forests, on beaches, golf lessons, cocktail making, tree trekking. I honestly have to keep pinching myself.
And as the icing on the cake, I have had the most wonderful week, and got to the finals in the Tots100 Mad Blog Awards in the School Days Category, and shortlisted for the Photography Category in the BritMums BiB Awards. I am so overwhelmed and excited. When I look at the incredible company I am in it blows my mind, people whose blogs I adore, and then me!
As a way of justification to myself more than anyone else I have added my favourite photos from this year, and some favourite adventures. I have also added the links of the award to the bottom, just in case! Check out the other blogs in my categories, they are all amazing. But most of all thanks for reading, for encouraging and supporting me, because without all that I wouldn’t have had the confidence to keep writing, snapping away and sharing.
