There is nothing more magical than waking on an un-spoilt beach. And that is why I set my alarm for 7am every day last week for a morning walk on the beach. Yes, I could have had lovely long holiday lie inns. But there is something special about enjoying early mornings on deserted beaches.
Greece and the very beautiful Ikos Oceania did not disappoint, I enjoyed several luxurious walks along the beach. The sand untouched for possibly the only time that day, my footsteps being the very first to touch the sand.
Walking along enjoying the warm of the sun starting to peek through the clouds, as the beach attendants prepare the beach for the day, before the games of volleyball, or the pedalos and canoes venture out to sea. The only sound being the sea gently lapping back and forth from the beach.
The one thing that I loved so early in morning is the beautiful pink haze on the horizon that hid the snow-topped mountains in the distance, which only appear in the afternoon and disappear again before morning.
Once I had experienced this joyous walk on my first morning I jumped out of bed when my alarm sounded every morning after that, excited to get down to the deserted beach and enjoy my long morning walk.
Looks wonderful, and you’re so right – whether it is a golden beach or a city square or another site, there’s nothing quite like having a spot to yourself. I love the photo of the footprints in the sand.
Absolutely Tim, I just love moments like this x
I miss being near the sea/beaches so much – what a great collection of pictures, makes me feel like I can feel the sand between my toes!
Thanks Molly, I wish I was there right now x
There is something very special about being up early in the morning. For me it is a farm walk that if I lived by the beach I’m sure that is where I would head. This must be much warmer with you looking at the bare toes in the sand .
Fiona it was 26 degrees and glorious, just perfect weather x
I agree! I love lie ins but when on holiday – for me – I want to make the most of it possible! 🙂 Beautiful photos. x #MySundayPhoto
Yes me too, I feel like I am wasting time and have to be on up and out, where Chris and the boys love to chill and lie inn. So I just leave them to it x
If that was my view, I’d be going for a walk at 7am each day too! Lovely shots. #MySundayPhoto
Thank you, I know how could you not get up early for this x
Hi Sarah, so glad you had nice weather. In the summer me and my daughter like to get down the beach really early for a run, there is something special about a beach first thing, special enough to up early for.
xx

Beautiful! You can almost hear the waves!
Thank you Emma, it was just beautiful x
Oh how lovely it is to have the beach all to yourself. It looks so idyllic xXx
Oh it was, just the most peaceful experience Katie x
I can imagine it was so beautiful at that time in the morning and well done for getting out of bed so early on holiday. Those beds were just the comfiest beds ever. Love the picture of your footprints in the sand. I meant to bring some of the sand back in a bottle but we forgot. But that means we have to go back lol x
Oh they were so comfy weren’t they? Ha ha yes you do Tracey, and it was a beautiful time of day once I saw it once and enjoyed a morning walk I had to do it every day x
Beautiful photos. There’s something very special about being up and about before everyone else isn’t there!
Thank you Vicky, yes there is I just loved it every single morning x

Thank you Tara, I might just do that actually x
How lovely! Beautiful photos….
Thank you Kim x
You are so right – a deserted beach is one of the best feelings. Great photos #MySundayPhoto
Thanks Victoria it really is isn’t it? x
Love those single footprints. But I know what you mean about getting out there early for a walk. I love to be out and about early rather than being there when all the crowds turn up.
Your holiday looks stunning 🙂 I love the beach when it is quiet – so pretty and mesmerising. Your break looked fab xx
Thank you Jess it was incredible we just loved it x
Oh it looks so idyllic, and warm!
There is something special about being on a deserted beach, I love the space and freedom being on a beach brings.
Hope you had a beautiful holiday

Aww that is just the loveliest photos! I am so jealous of that weather. We have sunny days in here too but the water is still too cold for us to go in it. #MySundayPhoto
I know the weather was just gorgeous we were so lucky, but today has been amazing here hasn’t it? I even sat out in the sun for an hour xx
i absolutely love solitary walks on the beach – well hubby can come too:) it looks lovely. nothing nicer than a walk on a pristine beach- tho it does look a bit gravelly there. i guess i am used to golden sands here in Oz. 🙂
Sherry it was so tranquil and yes there was a bit of gravel but it was still beautiful x
Oh this makes me so jealous! Looks so idyllic – I love Greece #MySundayPhoto
Ah thank you, it was so so idyllic x
