A Greek Sunset

24th April 2016 by SarahJChristie 44 Comments

You can’t visit somewhere as stunning as Greece without capturing a gorgeous Greek sunset. The sun was hot and hazy during the day obscuring the view of the mountains in the distance. The first day as we sat around the pool we spent ages trying to work out if it was indeed snow-capped mountains in the distance, or was it just fluffy clouds. We debated this for ages.  It was only at sunset that the mountains made an appearance.

It’s incredible how the gorgeous mountains were masked all day by the haze, maybe it the time of year? But as the evening draws in the sun sets behind the mountains, illuminating them with a gorgeous pink glow. And wow what an incredible sight.

I am so looking forward to long hot summers and hazy days and the feeling of having enjoyed a hot day as you watch the sun set.  Our trip to Greece was the most wonderful start to the summer, a much-needed injection of warmth and sun into our days, lets hope we get a hot one here in the UK.

Hi Sarah, I can imagine you sitting back and enjoying the sunsets, having the time to that is what holidays are all about. We can see both Kefalonia and the mainland from Zakynthos and some days they are quite clear and look close and other days you can barely make them out. They are most visible after a good rain.
