As I write I am sat in the car on the way to London, and that really is what my week has been about. I have been mega busy, I have juggled and multitasked and battled with snow. At times it would have been easy to throw the towel in, the snow really does seem to have tried to thwart our plans at every turn.
Last weekend saw the arrival of m second blog birthday; I still can’t believe what a huge achievement that feels, to still here and still love every minute. And with Mother’s Day looming I got a beautiful surprise Mother’s Day parcel from the Co-op.
And trust me after spinning my car in the sudden Wednesday morning snowfall; tea and cake were just what the doctor ordered. Fortunately it was on a deserted country road, and I managed not to hit the bollards that seemed to be sliding towards me in slow motion. But it left me feeling a little untrusting driving on our winding country roads.
It has also been a week that I have taken the opportunity to catch up with friends and enjoyed coffee, lunches, dinners, wine and chat with some of my favourite people. One of those events was wonderful stay at the very elegant Carden Park Hotel with the beautiful Karen, Jess and Rachel.
Another sudden snowfall almost stopped my plans as we found ourselves snowed in, and school closed. Fortunately at lunchtime the sun came out and thawed the road enough to get out and make it to Carden Park in time for a glorious much-needed full body massage and dinner with my wonderful friends.
And now I am on my way to another of my favourite people’s 40th Birthday Celebrations. I can’t wait to see her and give her a big hug, and toast her birthday. Then tomorrow we will be racing back home bright and early to have a chilled Mother’s Day Dinner. But one bonus of that is that for the first time ever we will be able to wish both of our Mums Happy Mother’s Day in person. In all, it has been a fun week, lots going on, but a bit of a whirlwind.
What a week! Busy, busy and who would have thought you’d have to contend with the snow as well. I hate driving in snow, must have been scary to spin like that. Hope the party’s fun and you enjoy tomorrow x Thanks for sharing with #WotW
I know grrr, I am thinking that maybe I need a 4×4. I have a Fiesta but might change it for the 4×4 version next year as I am losing my confidence in the snow x
I hope you weren’t too shaken following your car spinning in the snow.
Thankfully I am ok but it was so scary at the time Sarah xx
Gosh Sarah I hope you were ok after spinning in the snow. We didn’t have any snow on Wednesday but we had some on Friday. I knew you would love Carden Park.
