My Weekly Round Up, And A Beautiful Wedding

12th March 2016 by SarahJChristie 28 Comments

This week has been bittersweet; on a week with darkness and light I am going to celebrate the light and beautiful. And yesterday saw my not so little cousin Ben marry the love of his life Jessie in the most wonderful day , and the bride looked just stunning.

Weddings really are just the best opportunity to spend time with your loved ones. Life is so busy and being from a huge family means we don’t all get together as often as we should. And when we do I thank my lucky stars all these amazing people are in my life.

It was amazing to see our gorgeous Nan there too, her memory at times can be a little sketchy but yesterday she was in fine form and looking stunning, looking on with all of her family around her, and loving every minute. She is like a celebrity, bless her, everyone loves her so much and wants selfies taken with her, she is quite the expert now.

I often watch her and seeing her surveying the room, it must be incredible to be in such huge company and 40% of those people are there because of you. Because lets face it, had she not met our much-loved and missed Granddad none of us would have been born! They have a huge and beautiful legacy, and you really can see the pride in her eyes.

I am now sat in the car as we make our way back home after a manic couple of weeks and as I write my FB notifications are going mad, lots of lovely family shots of all the beautiful people I love, all sharing photos of a wonderful day and celebration. Most of my photos are on my camera, I can’t wait to get home and download them all.

And I want to leave by sending all my love to my family in Lincolnshire there are no words that would ever be enough. But saying nothing feel so wrong too. xxx,

Your gran sounds fab! Love that she’s a pro at taking selfies.

I’ve never really thought about how we are a legacy of our grandparents before, it’s true though. If our grandparents didn’t create our parents where would we be? or our cousins? I’m really going to think about this the next time I’m at a wedding.

I love family gatherings. It’s always a great time to catch up as they are all over the country. Weddings are slightly different but my Mum always organises the family parties at her house. Hers is the smallest house in the 30+ family. I always wish she made her brothers and sister host (massive houses!). We have a wedding coming up in August, luxury of a hall to go to. Can’t wait. Glad you had a good but all be it hectic time!

Hi Sarah, the wedding sounds beautiful and seeing your Nan be loved and treated like a celebrity. I wonder if it’s natural to sit and think ”if it weren’t for me?”.

Continue focusing on the good and hopefully the dark won’t seem so bad.

It sounds like a beautiful gathering and it’s so lovely to celebrate something positive with your family around you.
Reading this I thought about my grandmother who died a few years ago after reaching 87yrs. Grandparents are so very special, aren’t they?
Have a lovely week and keep focusing on the light; the positive

Beautiful photos Sarah. Isn’t it amazing when you get all the family together. I saw lots of my family at my Nan’s funeral this week; hearing the celebrant read out the names of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren was just amazing really. I hope everything is okay with your family x
