Car Shopping, and Being Beaten at Bowling, Q Hop Day 4

17th February 2016 by SarahJChristie 2 Comments

Day 3 of our Q hop we arrived at the amazing Hellidon Lakes to a packed itinerary, Joanne and the team had arranged so much for us to do, and all so much fun. Once we had settled in to our suite we set off the British Motor Museum, and trust me if you haven’t been it is incredible. If you love cars it is a must!

I just love old cars so did a spot of window shopping and chose a beautiful powder blue vintage car, whilst Chris rolled his eyes knowingly, safe in the knowledge this is not a purchase we will be making, as vintage cars do not have bluetooth, heated seats, power steering and quick clear windscreens, good old Ford. Although the concept of a beautiful old car is so appealing, maybe I am not ready for the reality ha ha.

Last night after a delicious dinner we headed down to the on site-bowling alley for an hours bowling. Now I am sure somewhere in the recesses of my memory I am quite good at bowling, but not last night. I struggled to hit a pin much to Chris and the Boys amusement, I even tried to use the stand that kiddies use and still no luck.

How cool that there is an onsite bowling alley, in fact Joe asked if he could have his birthday party there! Yup, just a little too far, but otherwise this would have been a great idea.

We are just sat having a chilled out lunch by the fire before we set off to Belton Woods Q Lodges. But if I had to very quickly describe Hellidon Lakes to you I would say it is like a warm hug. It is so comfy and friendly here, and Joanne and the team have made us so so welcome, thank you all for an incredible stay.

I can honestly say that the last 4 days have been just wonderful. Q Hotels you know how to treat families, we have felt so welcome in every hotel, thank you all so much. Next stop Q Lodges.

Oh Sarah that made me giggle that you used the kids stand for bowling. I must admit when we go bowling I always insist on keeping the sides up. Love reading all your Q Hop memories. It sounds as if you had a great stay at Hellidon Lakes x
