The Sun On A Cold Day, My Sunday Photo

10th January 2016 by SarahJChristie 22 Comments

As I sit looking at the rain running down the window, I long for a day like this again. There has not been many sunny days lately has there, where is the sun? Perfect days for a long family walk, maybe bob in to the village pub before walking home to enjoy and roast dinner and a night snuggled by a roaring fire.

The Sun On A Cold Day, My Sunday Photo

What I love about this photo, apart from the glorious sunshine is all of the airplane marks tracing the sky, all those people off on an adventure or indeed on their way home with happy memories. When the boys were little they used to think that every plane in the sky was on its way to Disney to see Mickey Mouse.

According to the weather we are to expect deep snow this week, now that can be an issue where we live, we have been known to be snowed in for a day or two. But the way I see it, it is totally out of our control and as long as we are prepared and have supplies then it’s a great opportunity for long family walks in the snow or a spot of  sledging.

I think the fact that I haven’t got the stress of risking life and limb to get to work makes it all a little exciting too. Instead you will be able to find me in my wellies camera in hand capturing all this gorgeous scenery blanketed in snow.

This is a lovely photo, Sarah. Unmistakably a winter’s day, but so tranquil and quiet too.

Thanks Tim, very different here today we have woken up to snow, but yes there is a calmness up here. If you are stressed a walk always does the job as it is just stunning x

Thanks Debbie the snow has arrived earlier than expected, I just love winter, mainly cold frosty days which we haven’t had at all this year, but at the moment a longing for spring x

I can imagine how gorgeous that landscape would look like covered in soft fluffy snow. I didn’t even notice the plane tracks when I first looked at the picture. Beautiful capture x

What a lovely capture. The airplane tracks in the sky drew me to this snap too. I’d love some sun like this to warm my tired old bones
