This weekend started off on an odd foot, or should I say hop! Whilst we were out for our Sunday afternoon walk in the snow, Jack decided to try to kick snow over Chris. He very confidently took a run and kicked what he thought was a mound of snow to find that it was in fact a solid mound of dirt. He heard it crack immediately and dropped to the floor rolling around in the snow like a beetle on its back.
We off course ran to help him immediately, having seen the whole thing I knew exactly what he was trying to do. The great thing about Jack is he is not one to moan, so with a big smile on his face and laughing at the situation we managed to get him home between hopping and Chris carrying him, which in itself was hysterical. He will most definitely think twice before trying kicking a mound of snow at someone again.
After a trip to the hospital we were relieved to find it is just a sprain, he needed crutches for a few days and wont be able to play football for 6 weeks but it could have been far worse.
On Tuesday night I started my photography course and my tutor is fab, he is a press photographer so really knows his stuff, its funny because his pictures are so gritty, a million miles away from pretty flat lays and hazy beach shots. But he is so talented and his knowledge is amazing, I am so excited as I know I will learn loads.
As a result I have been practicing some things I learnt, my homework this week is to play about with iso and setting a little and take some photos to take into college on Tuesday. I have a list of things I want to try out on Monday, but I just know I am going to love learning all about photography, especially as now if I get a good shot it is more luck than technical know how.
I have also booked a few little trips this week, a romantic valentines trip, a night’s stay and a show in Manchester with SuperBreak. I can’t wait we are going to see Mary Poppins I have been desperate to see it for ages. I am so looking forward to a leisurely afternoon maybe a bit of shopping and then dinner and a show, which for me is the perfect day. And a family lodge break with the gorgeous Holiday At Home luxury retreats, we have booked a lodge over a fishing lake; the boys are mega excited about trying out fishing.
When I started writing I thought it had been a quiet week, not much has happened. But actually it has been mega exciting, lots off exciting news, I have met with friends for lunch a couple of times, learned new things, and luckily I am not dealing with a teen with a broken foot.
And lastly, I just love the gorgeous sunrise from Thursday morning, there is something calming and beautiful about at beautiful sunrise, no matter what mood you are in, or how busy you are they have the power to stop you in your tracks.
Oh, poor Jack! Glad it’s not too bad and hope he’s fully mended again soon. Your course sounds brilliant and your photos are beautiful. I went to see Mary Poppins a few years ago – enjoy! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
