This gorgeous shot was taken by Joe on a family walk the day after boxing day. Christmas Day and Boxing Day the rain was horrific, causing catastrophes and disaster all over the country. It just shows the difference a day can make, as when we woke on Sunday the sun was shining and the sky was blue. Like many others we were feeling a little hemmed in by the weather so could not wait to get out for a walk.
Joe had been asking to try my camera for  a while so I nervously let him have a turn. But look what he came up with. I think the fact that I am always snapping away, both the boys have developed an interest photography. Jack takes some fantastic photos and now Joe is developing a skill too.
So when Joe took this shot of Pendle Hill he was so proud of himself and asked if I could use it for My Sunday Photo, bless him. And here is my shot from my mobile phone, you can just see from his body language that he was really concentrating.
That’s great he’s taking an interest. Pendle Hill does look a bit dark and foreboding in the photo – reflecting the history?

Kids definitely follow our example, don’t they? Our boys (8 and 5) have both shown an interest in photography and now have cameras of their own. With digital photography being so cheap (compared to using and developing old films), it really does make it an affordable hobby to start even for youngsters. I remember being given my first camera (a Kodak Tele-Ektra) when I was eight – you could only take 12 shots on a roll of film with it!
