I remember Batman being such a huge deal when I was little. I can actually remember it from being as young as 4 years old. At the time only one of my brothers was born, he was only 2 and was super hero mad. Well, I say super hero he loved a baddie. And even as young as 2 years old as soon as Batman had finished he was a ready for a game of Batman and Robin. He was always the joker, and I got to be Robin ha ha. Its funny I had forgotten all about that until I started writing this post.
I always had a soft spot for Robin; well Batman got all the attention didn’t he? It’s incredible that they are still going strong. Batman grew with me, as then came the series of Batman films, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney playing Batman throughout the movies, I mean omg what’s not to love.
I think because it is something I have always loved the boys naturally wanted to watch the Batman cartoons and some of the more suitable movies, then came the Lego Batman Wii game, we spent hours trying to negotiate Gotham City fighting baddies. And Jack just loved his Batman pj’s with detachable super hero cape, oh wasn’t Woolworths wonderful.
It is fair to say they too have grown up with Batman, and have a real love for superheroes. If your kids like mine are inspired by superheroes, DC Kids is their answer. What I love about DC Kids, it that I absolutely know that it is suitable, all content is age relevant. I think with iconic characters such a Batman this is something a parent needs to be aware of, I remember one of the boys trying to watch the Dark Knight, when I checked it out it was just not suitable.
