On Sunday we took Joe to his School Christmas Market to visit Santa. It is frightening, this time next year he will be looking forward to starting High School and Jack with be deciding which College to go to, arghhh. But for this year we are making the most of these moments. And as he wanted to see Santa we embraced it.
Now Santa is clearly resting the reindeer’s, I mean why wouldn’t he be at this time of year? They have to reserve their energy for the big night. So on Sunday his preferred mode of transport was helicopter. Well, how else was he meant to get from the North Pole quickly so near to Christmas. We were doubtful that he would be able to land due to the terrible weather. But Santa has a great pilot/Elf who is used to landing in these conditions, after watching a smooth landing we ordered a delicious mulled wine and waited to be called to see Santa.
This is a photo I will treasure forever, and Santa was wonderful with Joe. They got straight to business and discussed presents, mince pies, carrots etc. Then they spent some time discussing football. Joe was over the moon that Santa supported his favourite team, and is a season ticket holder at Burnley Football Club.
He even told Joe that he always wears a disguise to the football, so he didn’t get noticed. And lets face the big man himself, the one and only Santa Clause, would cause a lot of fuss going undisguised to watch his favourite team. And like he pointed out, he likes to watch the match in peace.
Joe left Santa beaming, and thankfully I got this shot of them deep in conversation discussing the match, and where Burnley went wrong on Saturday.
