What a difference a week can make, last week I was wandering around aimlessly hoping for life changing decisions, and this week? Well, lets just say all the goalposts have changed. It has been a week of emotion, shock, surprise, excitement, a little sadness, reflection and planing. And after all that all is still not completely clear, but I am confident it will all feel clearer very soon but until then….
My word of the week is walk, and that is what this weekend is all about. We are taking part in the Diabetes UK London Bridge Challenge. I knew we would take part this year when I watched all the live tweets from the event last year, and here we are one year later taking part. The support we have received since Jacks diagnosis is just incredible, and it is great to be able to take steps to help others.
I think it is important for the boys to understand that Just because you are diagnosed with a condition it does not make you a victim, you have choices in life. Positive mental attitude is key. Of course, I know not everybody is this lucky and may not have those choices. So if you do then making the correct choice , the choice that helps you deal with this diagnosis and live a full and healthy life is so important. Diabetes UK and our wonderful team helped Jack make those choices and for that we will be forever grateful.
Things that have made me happy this week…..
Knowing that we have some wonderful people in our lives who have sponsored and supported us for our walk,
The support I have had received from some lovely colleagues at work,
Starting my little desk, I am so excited to get it completed and ready for blogging,
Watching the leaves on the trees turn amber, I love this time of year it is so beautiful
Booking a very exciting event
And knowing that most negatives have a positive you just have to look for it, but trust me if you look hard enough there is one there somewhere, sometimes a little hidden maybe or even in disguise? But it’s there.
And that’s me for this week, talking in riddles and walking miles.
