As part of our very tough role as Q Hotels ambassadors we have been traveling the country checking out what Q Hotels has to offer families. All my dear friends that have been following this journey will know that we have had a great experience. We have met some truly wonderful people and been welcomed into the Q Family with open arms. People like Jaquie, Thomas, Haury, Annie, Craig, and many, many more. These wonderful people have made us feel so welcome and made our Q experience just wonderful. We still have Q Hotel adventures ahead, of which we are very excited.
But not long ago I received an email from the lovely people at Q Hotels asking us if we would consider trying out one of their luxury Q lodge breaks. I thought about it for about 0.6 seconds, of course we want to try out a luxury lodge break. We love family lodge breaks, countryside, cosy nights in and adventure so this is right up our street.
Slaley Hall Q lodges are situated on a 1000-acre site in the grounds of the stunning Slaley Hall in Northumberland. If you haven’t visited Northumberland then you absolutely must. It is the one the most unspoiled places I have ever visited in the UK and holds many happy family memories for us.
The detached villa’s looks beautifully modern which for me is a huge deal, a home from home really should be just that, and are available with 2,3,and 4 bedrooms so lots of room to take all the family. The villa’s are designed for maximum tranquility so are quite remote, and you are provided with your very own golf buggy to navigate around the vast site. Do you know Joe is more excited about the buggy than the break itself? I must say I am looking forward to living in our own little remote bubble for the weekend, somewhere to unwind spend family time, and take long country walks.
When Jack heard the word remote he asked one question, is there Wi-Fi? I should have recorded the relieved look on his face when I confirmed that yes, although we were on a relaxing tranquil family break he could have access with the outside world.
To keep the Christie boys happy there are so many wonderful activities on offer, Quad Biking for all the family, 4×4 Off Road Driving and 4×4 Demonstration, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Segway’s, fishing and Archery. I showed the boys this little list ands their eyes lit up. Although, can I take the stress of partaking in competitive country sport with that competitive trio?
Because let me tell you, no ever wants to be in my team, and it is always 3 against 1. They are all sickeningly good at all things outdoors, as a parent this makes me so proud. But on occasions like this they will see me as one thing only, and that my friends is a competitor. But do you know what? I am going to polish the Hunters and get ready for battle.
After all these activities there is plenty to do to unwind, I am looking forward to sitting on my balcony with a cup of coffee and enjoying the peace, tranquility and stunning views, chilling in the lodge sauna, and having the time to take long hot baths. I am sure the boys will want to drive up to Slaley Hall to enjoy a swim, and whilst we are looking forward to cooking a meal in the beautiful open plan kitchen and enjoying a chilled movie night.
We also plan to visit the main house for dinner, there are 3 dining options so it is going to be tough deciding as the menus all look amazing. Plus every time I visit a Q Hotel I plan to have a cocktail and have not had one yet! However Slaley Hall has a cocktail bar, if that doesn’t remind me to order one nothing will.
I will be sharing a daily diary whilst we are guests at Slaley Lodge and will be Instagraming like mad. We cant wait to have a much-needed rest after a chaotic couple of months. We also plan to get out and about a little and are hoping to pay the beautiful Alnwick, Castle, Gardens and Tree House a visit. Ooh and maybe a little shopping if I can drag the boys away from Slaley Hall. But I have a feeling once they get there they just won’t want to leave.
