I Remember When….

I love how my blog acts as a journal for our family, tracking and logging special moments and even the ordinary moments. Those moments that over time we would forget. That makes me so sad that I will not or cannot remember everything, like a movie, just moments in time.

I remember 2It takes my breath away when I scroll through my blog and the images I have taken over my blogging journey, I remember so much more, it is all here like a journal, recorded for us to look back on. To me that is priceless.

I used to scrapbook before blogging, I loved it as a creative way to journal our life that was until my blog took on a life of its own, this has become my wonderful living diary.

I remember 3It has got me thinking a little about when I was young, I want to remember as much as I can, memories come back in bits and pieces don’t they? So I am going to start trying to recall it all, quiz my Mum and Dad to fill the gaps and try to record as much as I can.

I want to record what my Grandparents, Chris’s Grandma shared with us so its all there logged somewhere one day the boys can look and read about the history behind us all.  About the silly moment’s ordinary moments that time forgets. But history is similar for all of us isn’t it? If you were born in a certain time you will remember long hot summers playing out on your bike, time before mobile phones, the royal wedding.

I Remember 1

I cant wait to get started and will start  with I Remember When… Holidays. I am off to find photos and memories from childhood; it seems a good place to start with travel being my passion.  I am so excited about recalling memories that are there, just deeply hidden I know giving myself topics will help me to remember special and ordinary moments in time.

I have also asked my family for help, I am hoping they will come up with some gems that time has forgotten, I am so looking forward to this little trip down memory lane.

This is such a lovely idea, Sarah. I have a box of slides sitting in the office upstairs full of images of holidays from over thirty years ago. I really should buy one of those little machines that copies negatives and puts the images on your PC. A project for later this year, I think.

What a lovely idea to do this Sarah. I remember childhood holidays in general especially the camping trips we would go on. This is why we had a few years of enjoying camping holidays, so our kids could enjoy the great outdoors and sleeping under canvas. Looking forward to reading more xx
