Day 4 of our Incredible Q Hop, The Chesford Grange

3rd July 2015 by SarahJChristie 18 Comments

It is with a heavy heart I write my last post of our incredible Q Hop, it feel like our little mini adventure is truly over by writing about our last hotel. And trust me last is by no means least in the case of Chesford Grange, based in the beautiful county of Warwickshire.

The Chesford Grange is a huge grand resort that seems to go on forever. Yet its period features, grand staircase, and the bar that is set over a several areas such as a library and conservatory makes it feel intimate.  The hotel has many levels and the most stunning grounds that seem to go on forever.

Chesford 3We were greeted in the usual wonderful Q Manor with open arms, it is so lovely going into a hotel and knowing that you and your family are going to be welcomed as old friends. We were greeted by the lovely Elaine, who gave us a mind-blowing list of activities that were available for us to enjoy whilst staying at the hotel. Plus we had one final Q Mission, but more about that next week.

Chesford 5Our rooms were beautiful, and very comfortable. The boys are getting a little to used to having their own room ha ha. In fact we are too, as we can close the door when they are bickering, like sibling invariably do.

Chesford 2IMG_8318Elaine and the team had arranged for snacks to be waiting for us when we arrived at our room, tickets to Warwick Castle, a fabulous Helter Skelter mug, a great idea, and part of the Warwick Castle package which is such a great deal.

It includes

2 night family package from £260 per family and includes:

2 nights to include breakfast for the whole family on 2 mornings

Dinner on the first night for the adults to the value of £26 per person

20% discount off drinks in The Terrace Bar

Tickets to Warwick Castle for 2 adults and 2 children – 2 day pass

Quakers pack and a Helter Skelter mug (unlimited squash during stay) for the children

Under 5’s stay and eat free

Over 5 dinner is charged as taken

Elaine had also booked us into the restaurant for dinner, and booked me in a pedicure in the spa. But first we had out mission to complete, and as it was a nature trail we were very lucky the rain had subsided and the sun was shining.

chesford 4I will share our adventure next week, but the grounds are just beautiful and a joy to explore. It is a huge wooded area with wildlife and beautiful flowers, we only intended to spend an hour out exploring but we were out much longer just because it was so beautiful.
After our walk we decided on a swim, the pool area is lovely and the boys thoroughly enjoyed splashing around, swimming is one of those activities that always makes Jack and Joe happy, it amazes me that they never get bored  being in water.

Screen Shot 2015-07-03 at 10.08.48Once dressed and ready for dinner we retreated to the stunning bar area, it felt just like we were in a country manor house we really loved the atmosphere in there. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and Simon the restaurant manager was a star. We spent some time in the bar playing top trumps, but this time the nature version. However it all ended rather dramatically when I won and the Christie boys refused to play with me any longer.

I love times lke this, when you are able to chill and laugh over a game it’s just a shame the men in my life are sore losers ha ha.

Screen Shot 2015-07-03 at 10.09.28Dinner was delicious and the service was fantastic, it’s a little different at Chesford Grange as they have a buffet option for children. Joe chose to eat from the buffet and loved being able to choose his own meal, it made him feel really grown up, whilst Jack much preferred to order a reduced portion from the adults menu.

Screen Shot 2015-07-03 at 10.09.15We absolutely loved the Chesford Grange, it is the perfect location for visiting Warwick Castle, and the surrounding areas and has so much to offer the family on many levels. Thank you all so much for making our stay such a memorable one and thank you Jenna for the wonderful pedicure, it was lovely chatting to you and my feet looked great. chesford grange pin

Oh that does look like fun – we live not too far from Warwick Castle and it’s definitely a lovely part of the world to explore, especially when fuelled by puddings like that!

Have loved reading all your posts and I must admit we have never stayed in a Q hotel before but it is definitely somewhere I would consider for the future. The hotel looks amazing and a great location near to Warwick Castle, where we have visited lots of times. I love the idea of a children’s buffet. Thanks for sharing yet another adventure xx

Oh Sarah, I can’t believe this is the last hotel on your Q tour… how sad. It’s been so lovely following you on your journey. The Warwick Castle package is really good value I think – you get a lot for your money don’t you? Look forward to reading about the nature walk and more next time! Thanks so much for linking up with #MondayEscapes

I’ve loved reading all about your hop around the Q hotels in the Midlands Sarah. You’ve had some fantastic experiences and when mine are older I think we will definitely have to repeat this tour. So many things to do and they have all been so different too which has been even better!

The Chesford Grange looks amazing. Definitely my kind of hotel. And once again it looks like they really spoilt you. The Warwick Castle package sounds fabulous and brilliant value for money. I went to the University of Warwick and my friends and I used to visit the castle regularly in the summer months. We always had such fun there. Hugs Mrs H xxxx
