A Horse and Carriage Ride in Sicily

23rd July 2015 by SarahJChristie 5 Comments

I love this photo, it was taken in Sicily somewhere I absolutely fell in love with and am desperate to re visit. We visited as part of a Royal Caribbean Cruise and had the most wonderful day wandering around taking in the gorgeous sights.

We sat in a cafe and watched the world go by for quite some time, I remember the boys being mesmerised by the sheer chaos we witnessed from the little street corner cafe whilst we sipped ice-cold drinks at they ate ice cream.

Screen Shot 2015-07-20 at 21.27.48It was such a glorious hot day and we had walked for hours, I remember the boys being so hot and absolutely exhausted so we decided to get a horse and carriage back. We chose this particular horse and carriage, as the owner so clearly loved his horse, we had watched him from the cafe lovingly stroking it and ensuring it drank water.

Joe was so fascinated with the horse so much so he didn’t want our journey to end. I think this was maybe the beginning of his love for horses.

This photo so reminds me of that beautiful hot day, I remember once we boarded the ship we headed to the pool to cool off and let the boys splash around.
