I would love Your Help With The New Qkids Menu

I am working with the lovely people at Q Hotels on a new little project, which I am hoping to get a little help and advice with.

If your kids are anything like mine they are extremely fickle, know exactly what they like and don’t like which can be a really pain when you eat out cant it?  I often watch those families whose children will eat anything of a menu without complaining with envy.

Our two are can be so awkward, Jack is Mr. Plain taste, hates sauces and likes his food the plainer the better, whilst Joe is Mr. adventurous and loves to order streak, venison and squid. There seriously is no middle ground between the two of them. I had chatted with the lovely people from Q Hotels about this and they have worked on a new menu to endeavor to excite our little angels, because lets face it, happy kids, happy parents.

This is where I would love your help, if you wouldn’t mind taking a peek at the new QKids menu and tell us what you think. Would your children eat what’s on the menu, what are you top tips for encouraging fussy eaters, tips that could be incorporated into the menu, and if there are any kid’s favourites that have been left off.

QHotels are also trying a teenage menu have you any suggestions on what could be included and any thoughts you had on how this can be presented.

So what do you think of the menu, do you like it? What would you change. I would love you to share your suggestions below. Thank you so much for helping, all of our kiddies so different aren’t they? What suits one child is not going to suit another.

Oh Sarah!! my girls are vegetarian, although they both mostly eat off the adult menu, we have struggled so much over the years. Sometimes they don’t want pizza or pasta and not all children want chips all the time, mine didn’t. They are not difficult because they like any veggie food but, sometimes it seems that pizza is shoved onto the menu to tick a box. Rant over, I bet you are sorry you asked haha!! xx

This looks fantastic, my eldest is THE fussiest eater and I think even he would eat from this menu, love the smoothie on there, what a great idea! My twins really love pesto pasta but it very rarely on kids menus, it is probably their favourite food! Also I think it can be good to look through the adults menu and see if there is anything they could add as half portion as like you say some children are very adventurous now with what they eat! Xx

I like the new menu, it is a bit different and I’m sure there are things on there to please everyone. Personally my kids will always eat sausages or pasta, and crudités always go down well – basically i think the key with kids is to get food out to them fast don’t you? The less waiting for them the better so starters are always a good idea. x

Joe loves sausages Julia it is always a winner, do you know that is a great idea, wee always ask for their main with our starter as we are not into pudding and the boys are, so they have pudding when we have our main, kids dont like long meals do they, thanks Julia great tips x

I can definitely spot a few things on the menu for my fussy two. They both love pasta, sausages and chips (although, they don’t get them all together). Having said that maybe a ‘pick’a’mix’ menu would be fun for kids? Something a little different to grab their attention. Also, a little toy or gift always helps in a restaurant. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive, to be honest they get excited by anything new. Hope that helps! xxx

Ooh a pick n mix is a great idea Heledd, I think Joe would like that too, in fact they have a buffet at the Chesford Grange and Joe loved it x

This looks a great menu and I like the fact there are starters. So many restaurants forget this. My 2 are completely different too. The tween will ONLY eat burgers when we go out. He may branch out once in a while and go for a chicken burger. This is as adventurous as he gets. Katie is more adventurous and she would opt for most things on the menu. I like the idea of a ‘teen’ menu. Morgan has adult meals now, but sometimes these can defeat him and he ends up wasting quite a bit, but the kids meals are far to small. Would be great served in a ‘funky’ way for the teens xx
