Day 1, Telford Q Hotel & Golf Resort and Spa

We are finally coming down after our incredible Q Hop last week. As part of our Q Hotel ambassadorship  we visited four amazing hotels in four days and had such a great time. We have so much to share about the wonderful Q Hotels, the lovely Q team and all the great activities we did in the areas surrounding the hotels, there really is so much to do in the UK.

telford Q1I love the fact that Q Hotels have tips on their website offering advice on attractions in the local area for each hotel, this is fantastic and how we found Ironbridge, an incredible set of museums I cannot wait to share.

Our first Hotel the Telford Hotel & Golf Resort and Spa was stunning, we had spent the morning at The Iron Bridge and fallen in love with the village, it really is the most incredible place. The Telford Q was less than 10 minutes away great for exploring the area.

P1090080As we drove in through the perfectly manicured golf course we knew this resort was something special. You see the Telford Q is not a hotel; it is a large resort that boasts a spa, golf club bar, restaurant and incredible views.

Check inn was quick and easy and the reception staff were so helpful and friendly offering us a dining time in the restaurant, we were told when the children splash times were in the pool and were given a map of the resort; yes it is that big.

P1090084We met with the hotel manager Steve who welcomed us to the hotel with open arms, he also explained a little of the mission we had been invited to complete whilst we were guests at Telford. I have included a little sneaky peak of our mission but I am still working on a vlog and post to do it full justice because it was just fantastic. The boys described it as the best activity ever so full marks Q Hotels.

Our rooms were lovely, we were given adjoining rooms, which the boys loved, and they were modern and clean with beautiful bathrooms. They really were very nice, and very comfortable, in fact we all had the most amazing nights sleep, so much so we only just made it to breakfast the next day.

We spent a glorious spring afternoon in the grounds of the hotel completing our mission, there is so much space for children here and the boys just loved exploring the hotel grounds.

Their mission pack cleverly contained a walky talky, which meant Chris and I got the chance to enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the beautiful golf course whilst Jack and Joe explored a little. Joe loved this freedom, of course he had to keep in eyeshot but with the range of the walky talkies and all the available outside space (not the golf course) he was able to get quite far.

Splash time in the pool was great as we got to enjoy the absolutely beautiful pool and not worry about offending any swimmers, the boys got the freedom to splash about a little whilst we got to do a few lengths of the pool and took turns enjoying the sauna and steam rooms.

We ate in the hotel restaurant at night, I am so rubbish as I was so relaxed I never took a single photo, all I can say is it set a precedent as we ate in the hotels every night after this. The service and food were fantastic as was breakfast. The restaurant staff were fantastic, so attentive and friendly and great with Jack, helping him to work out his portion sizes.

P1090068So, our overall view of the hotel, vast, stylish, modern, very friendly, busy, buzzing exceptionally clean and well maintained. In fact Steve was like Mr. Pop up, I saw him all over the resort chatting with staff members. You could clearly see he was discussing and planning with staff at all times to ensure the Telford Q was in tip-top condition. As a family we loved visiting and loved the location for exploring the area.

I would like to say a huge thank you for each and every member of the incredible Telford team for making our stay so amazing.

P1090074Can I make one little suggestion? I would have loan Walky Talkies for visiting families to use, with all that open space and as long as children stayed in the parent’s vision they could be a great addition to a family break.

This post was created in collaboration with the lovely people from Q Hotels and the Telford Q Hotel & Golf Resort and Spa. I can honestly say I love being a Q Hotel ambassador.

Ah this place looks amazing. I normally go to champneys for spas or manor houses. This looks great though. Shame I don’t live closer but if I’m ever up that way I’ll be sure to stay in a Q hotel. Your posts have been amazing and you’ve done a fabulous job of detailing the hotels. Xxx

I do love staying in hotels – it’s so nice to put your feet up and be waited on. It’s funny how now, with The Madam, I choose a hotel with all the same luxuries but a family-friendly vibe and good facilities to keep the children entertained. It sounds like this would be a great place to visit! Thanks for sharing.
Great pics – looking forward to the vlog!
