Me and Mine, April

5th May 2015 by SarahJChristie 12 Comments

Argghh I am so so excited, I have been meaning to join the Me and Mine linky for months, and yesterday I finally got that elusive family photo. And now I have got my first I am on a roll. I want to create a calendar of Christie family moments. Memories for our boys to look back on and think hey we had so much fun.

I had a fab childhood, so many happy memories but there are limited photos and no written memoirs. Of course there wasn’t, I was a 70s child, there was no internet!
A couple of weeks ago my gorgeous Nan went into a home, a sad time but a much-needed lifeline for a very special lady, who I love very much.

And in the wake of that, my family are filtering through all of her beautiful photos and memories, occasionally one pops up on Facebook. They make me smile and remember my childhood with such fondness.

It is such an old fuzzy photo, but one that makes me so happy, it was taken in my beloved Nan and Granddad’s back garden on a hot and sunny day. Its weird I was so young but I remember it well. I am the one with the womble ha ha. I am amongst my lovely brother Stephen, cousins Pauline, Theresa, Gary, and Jeanette and my lovely Aunt and Uncle Joyce and Ted, such a lovely memory, and looking back makes me determined to create these beautiful memories for our family.

So today on our family walk, we set my phone up on timer on a dry stone wall. I am not going to lie, it took a while, the Christie boys struggle with serious! We laughed lots, took a few shots, but I love that, it is a moment I will never ever forget.

Lovely photo – dont you find its so much harder getting family photos as the kids get older? My 10 year old is so hard to get a picture with, yet we have lots with our 8 month old. 🙂

I’m glad you had a good walk. I miss that..being physically unwell and all..but also have fond memories as a child, especially going to lakes and on country walks. That’s why I encourage my hubby to get Out and about with the daughter. Interesting Post!

Ah so sorry you don’t get to get out much, sometimes just the fresh air and sitting outside can make you feel so much better too, I hope you are able to get out a little xxx

    Gorgeous family snap Sarah.
I am very aware of the fact that I take far too many photos – but I don’t want to miss a thing. I know how fond my grandparents are of looking back at old photos and it makes me want to take even more.
I love that the dog is in there too 🙂

Love, love, love your photo! It looks so beautiful were you live and I love that it has captured you out on a family walk and the memory you will always have behind it. I love looking through old family photos and it is lovely that you have so many good memories with you Nan and you have those photos to look back on. These ones will be the same and you will never forget this photo and that the boys were giggling! xxx
