My Top 10 Disney Tracks

10th April 2015 by SarahJChristie 52 Comments

I was going to write this post as my top 5 Disney tracks but I just couldn’t do it, I have pondered for days. But couldn’t whittle it down to 5. I love Disney music it just makes you so happy doesn’t it? I mean what is it about Disney songs that can evoke such emotions in you?

walt-disney_200x200

I can hear a Disney track and it can transform me right back to a certain moment in my life. Disney music to me is almost like a soundtrack to my life, if that makes sense. Every song has a memory and means so much. So here is my top 10 count down of my favourite Disney tracks. And why I love them so much.

10. If I Didn’t Have You, Monsters Inc

This is such a happy song, I remember singing this to the boys when they were little and every time I hear it I sing along and smile. Monsters Inc came out on DVD the day we travelled back from my 30th birthday holiday from Mexico. And even though we were jet lagged I made Chris stop by Woolworths to pick it up.Sulley_and_Mike

9. The Beautiful Briny Sea, Bedknobs and Broomsticks

A real song from my childhood, Bedknobs and broomsticks was always on TV in the holidays and we watched it every time. This was also on my very first Disney album and I remember singing along to this in my bedroom as a child.

8. You’ve got a friend in me, Toy Story

Now Toy Story is special, this is the soundtrack to the boy’s years. I think you’ve got a friend in me was the first Disney song both the boys learnt and loved.

group-disney-announces-toy-story-4-is-happening-1262267. When I See an Elephant Fly, Dumbo

Now my Dad isn’t much of a singer, but I remember him sing When I see an Elephant fly to me when I was small. Every time I hear it, it brings back that lovely memory.

6. Under the Sea, The Little Mermaid

I just love Under the Sea, I feel like I should be on a Caribbean beach when I listen to this song it is so happy and sunny. GLI-DSNY-12

5. Once Upon a Dream, Sleeping Beauty

This is the definitive Disney Princess song; It’s so romantic and makes me smile every time I hear it. I just loved visiting the stunning Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disney Land Paris. It really is breathtaking.

4. I Just cant wait to be king, The Lion King

This is such a feel good song, I watch Joe singing along to this, relating it to the freedom of adulthood. It makes me giggle. But thats what I love about this song the innocence of perception all those wild dreams.

3. Be our Guest, Beauty and the Beast

I am beside myself with excitement at visiting the Be Our Guest restaurant at Magic Kingdom. I love Beauty and the Beast; it is the most beautiful film and story. This song makes me smile and want so sing along (And I am not a singer at all) Lumiere-1900x1200

2. The Jungle Rhythm, Jungle Book 2

Jungle book 2 was a favourite of both of the boys; this to me is the most infectious song I have ever heard in my life. I just love it. You can’t help sing along, it makes you feel so happy.

1. When You Wish Upon A Star, Pinocchio

Now this is the definitive Disney song isn’t it? And every time we see a Disney movie at the cinema the intro with the tune and image of Disney gives me goose bumps. The words are just so stunning, and this song doesn’t just remind me of Pinocchio, to me When You Wish Upon A Star is Disney, and represents every thing about the beauty and magic of Disney.Disney, Disney Tracks

So there it is, my Disney tracks top 10. I know I am 42, but do you know what I will never ever grow out of Disney. I get as excited about a new Disney film and soundtrack now as I did as a child. I also know that every person that reads this post will have a different top 10, and some will be horrified there isn’t a single Frozen track in there. Whats your top 10 Disney tunes, I warn you now once you start it’s actually so difficult to choose.Running in Lavender

I love Disney music too. Little Miss H got a Disney CD for Christmas last year and we love listening to it. My favourite has to be “Part of your world” from The Little Mermaid. But I also love “I see the light” from Tangled and “How do you know” from Enchanted. Brilliant post. Hugs Mrs H xxxx

I’m not going to list mine because I just might need to steal your post idea! I wasn’t that in to Disney until the girls started to be interested. Now I love it and we often have my Disney song playlist in the car. Two of my favourites are Prince Ali from Aladdin and Scar’s song from the Lion King. #sundaystars
