The Not so Secret Santa

20th December 2014 by SarahJChristie 26 Comments

Some of my lovely blogging friends decided to get together to do a festive not so secret Santa, what a great idea. Its difficult buying for a new friend is it, but as we all have blogging in common I decided that my gift would be at least a little blog related.

Before I get on to that I wanted to write a little about the wonderful ladies I have met along the way. I have met some truly lovely and generous people since I started blogging in February. And now chat to a community of wonderful people who offer me advice a tips.

I have said this before, but I never ever envisaged making true friends through my blog. Yet here I am 10 months later with a group of wonderful friends most of who I got to meet in November, and do you know what? We got on like a house on fire. I suppose that was inevitable, we have the love of blogging in common.

I would like to say a huge thank-you to all these lovely ladies for picking me up when my blog breaks, or I am exhausted from working, being a Mum and blogging till midnight. I am so glad I found you all.

Drum Roll for some of my new-found blogging friends. Check them out they are fantastic. The lovely;

Kat,  Jess, Rachel, Julia, Karen, Karen, Lucy, Hayley, Steph, Bonita, Katie, Amy, Katie, Heledd

And last but no means least the lovely Jenna who I exchanged gifts with. We had a budget of £6.00.to choose a gift for each other.

secret santaFor Jenna I chose a bar of champagne chocolate, well I didn’t have enough for champagne so thought this was the next best thing. A nice Mummy only treat for Jenna. And a heart shape egg mold. I thought this could be great for many blogging posts. Here’s a list of things Jenna could make with it.

Heart shaped eggs, how lovely would a salad look with heart-shaped eggs.

Heart shaped mini home-made burgers for Jasmine

Heart shaped pate, for dinner parties.

Heart shaped chocolates for Valentine’s Day; you could add popping candy for the kiddies.

Heart shaped low sugar Haribo sweets.

Heart shaped home-made soap.

And

Heart shaped home-made salt dough ornaments.

Just a few ideas Jenna, but I do have a challenge for you. I challenge you to make a new heart-shaped item every month during 2015. If you choose to accept you may choose from the suggestions above or choose your own.

And what did the lovely Jenna send in my parcel??

IMG_5051Festive socks, do you know I have never had Christmas socks, so was so excited to receive these. In fact I am wearing them now, they are so cute.

A lovely stationary set, so pretty with birds on. I love birds and bird prints. This is a staple item for all bloggers so has gone in my lap top bag. Ready for me to write my inspiration and plans for my blogging year ahead.

IMG_5053And lastly, my favorite item is a beautiful tape measure in a flower shape. I can NEVER find a tape measure Joe has a real thing for them he is always measuring things grrr. Yes it’s great that he has such an interest in math’s but not when I need to measure something. They won’t touch this it’s far too pretty. I can now measure whenever I want.

In fact as soon as I unwrapped it Joe has to measure the circumference of all our heads. And it seems I have the biggest head in the house ha ha. Yes that is what living in the Christie household is like, not only was I subjected to a public head measuring, I was then ridiculed for the size of my head.

Thank you Jenna for my lovely gifts I love, love, love them and thanks to all my lovely blogging ladies for the support you have given me this year.
