The Oast House, Spinning Fields

19th November 2014 by SarahJChristie 4 Comments

Last week I visited The Oast House, in Manchester’s buzzing Spinningfields. If you haven’t been to Spinningfields then you have to go. It really is the most amazing place no matter what time of year you visit.

Last House Girls Day Out

I visited with all the girls from work as a pre-Christmas lunch, and leaving drink for my wonderful friends Louse who I am missing so much. A few of the girls had never been to the amazing Oast House; we decided this had to be the place to start.

If you haven’t been to the Oast House before; you are missing a treat. Let me try to explain; but bear with me as the Oast House is such a quirky unique place, and very hard to describe. I never forget the first time I took my friend Cheryl; she looked at in shock and said “where are you taking me”. But as soon as she walked into the Teepee she got it. Forget Lapland, the Teepee is an adult festive wonderland.

It is a rustic style bar, restaurant set in the heart of spinning fields, the first time you see it strikes you a quite odd, with its tin room and giant Teepee that appears on site every winter. Yet it is a stroke of genius with its quirky design that is rustic yet so contemporary at the same time, the Teepee has an open fire and furs on the benches, a mulled wine in the Teepee really gets you in the festive spirit.

The menu has lots of choices on offer, ranging from hanging kebab’s, build your own rustic platters to burgers. I must say their burgers are amongst the best I have eaten and cooked pink, just how I like them. The service was great to say it was so busy, yes we had a wait a while for our bill. But given how busy it was, it was not a big issue as we were all enjoying the atmosphere and the great wine and festive ciders.

So why visit the Oast House? Firstly the atmosphere, I bet you can guess that I just love, love, love it here. It really is a cool trendy place that’s does festive in a cool way. The food is great and very reasonably priced. Thank you to the Oast House for a wonderful afternoon. This really is a must visit venue in Manchester.
