Les Quinze Nits Restaurant Barcelona

5th September 2014 by SarahJChristie 4 Comments

If you visit Barcelona you really must visit this lovely little restaurant.  It is nestled in Placa Reial, the most beautiful square, which is surrounded with bars and restaurants, situated just off las Ramblas.

We stumbled across Placa Reial by accident, we had spent the day enjoying walking the streets of Barcelona, seeing the sights, shopping, stopping every now again for a glass of wine.

Las Ramblas was busy and buzzing on a beautiful hot August day, we decided to get off the main strip and explore the real Barcelona rather that endless gift shops that the bottom end of las Ramblas has to offer. And there it was Placa Reial.
Surrounded by beautiful historic buildings. Cafe bars and restaurants were situated all around the square. There was a flea market in the center that was packed with locals. We looked around the square for somewhere we would like to eat and decided on Les Quinze Nits. It was so pretty with an arched verandah, pretty floral chairs and flowers on the tables and looked so inviting.

We were greeted and seated immediately and give a menu. We decided to order wine first so chose a glass at 13€ which we thought looked quite nice. When the waitress came to take our order she questioned why we ordered two bottles of wine? Yes you read right! 13€ for a bottle of wine, in Barcelona. So with that information we reduced our order to 1 bottle.

We decided on a light lunch of tapas, the waitress was lovely and helped us with our choices. Our food came swiftly and was delicious.

It was wonderful sitting on a lovely square in Barcelona. Eating tapas, drinking wine and people watching. So if you are wondering where to eat in Barcelona, check it out.

It quickly became apparent how popular Les Quinze Nits is, by 2pm there were long queues of people patiently waiting for a table. Although the other restaurants were busy around the square, there were seats. Yet people remained in the queue for Les Quinze Nits. I fully understand why, we had a wonderful lunch with great service for a very reasonable price. In fact I can’t wait to revisit, and spend another stress free hour or two, soaking up the sun, people watching and enjoying a great lunch of wine and tapas.

It sounds lovely – I’ve only been to Barcelona once and it was a bit of a rushed visit in the rain. Perhaps I’ll get to go back one day.
Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested this week x
