Getting Out With The Girls, And Checking Out Oh Me Oh My, Liverpool

Share

We all have those days that we just don’t want to get out of bed. You know the kind of day where you are just exhausted. Tired of adulting, juggling and having to be the bad guy. All in the endeavour of ensuring our kids grow up kind and considerate human beings.

Of course the addition of man flu doesn’t help, nor does a particularly brutal gym class that leaves you almost unable to walk. Making stairs an impossibility, I kid you not last week I negotiated the stairs on my hands and knees.

So when I woke up last week with the prospect of driving to Liverpool ahead of me, I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse. All I wanted to do was top myself up with painkillers and spend the day in bed watching old movies.

If you want to see me create my projects, follow me on Tik Tok and Instagram.

But that’s not what us mums do is it? We get up and crack on. Lead by example and show our kids that there is nothing to gain feeling sorry for yourself. Nothing motivates you more than meeting up with a group of lovely ladies who make you laugh till your face hurts.

So I set off, picking Jenny up along the way and chatting as we frantically tried to negotiate Liverpool traffic and roadwork’s. I will never understand why it is so hard to get to Liverpool from where I live? Before we eventually found Colette and Karen at Liverpool Docks.

Days out with the girls are sometimes just what you need!

There seems to have been so much negativity about lately. People bitching and worrying about what other people are up too. And leaving god-awful comments on people’s blog posts. Haters are always going to hate but there honestly is no need for it! We should all be supporting each other not judging each other. Thankfully this is a minority, as life is too short.

I want to surround myself with amazing people that have my back and are as happy to give me constructive feedback rather than tell me what I want to hear. We all need that don’t we?

The aim of the day was to celebrate Karen’s 40th Birthday and chat about all things blogging. Karen had chosen Oh Me Oh My for afternoon tea and we decided to have a wander and get some photos.

Whilst it was not raining we were not blessed by the weather and feeling the effects of the tail end of a hurricane the wind was fierce and cold. But this made the day all the more fun as we tried to negotiate the wind and get some photos of our day out.

Afternoon Tea was delicious and if you have not been to Oh Me Oh My then you have to check it out.

Offering the most amazing selection of tea and cakes, the perfect recipe for a wonderful girls afternoon. And being a lover of design I didn’t know where to look first. With its high ceilings, beautiful lights and quirky design it’s the perfect place to chill and chat with friends.

That is what surrounding yourself with wonderful people around you is all about?

Spending time together, laughing LOADS, being supportive and kind. Friends no matter how new should be people you want to be around and make you feel good about yourself.

I am lucky, lucky with my real life friends they are pretty special beautiful people and my blogging friends are very much the same. And that is exactly why on those days that you just don’t want to get out of bed, you absolutely should.  Because I promise you will feel a million times better. Even if said blogging friends spend all day laughing at you inability to walk! 🙂 xx

  2. Oh babes thanks for picking me up once again we were all having trouble getting out of bed that day but so amazing we made the effort as you said so so worth it in every way possible. You ladies always uplift me and inspire me to do more, be better and make me feel comfortable and happy. I am so blessed to have met you ladies and feel honoured to get together with you ladies. It was such a fab day minus the ability to not be dizzy or you walking normal or Karen being 50/50 gin. I think colette was the only one whole that day. Afternoon tea was delightful!!!
