Fashion At The Victoria & Albert, My Sunday Photo

Share

On Friday I was lucky enough to have some spare time in London and get the chance to have an hour enjoying the fashion collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

It is somewhere I have been meaning to visit forever, but never have the time. Or Chris and the boys haven’t got the enthusiasm. They prefer battleships and castles!

I decided to head for the Fashion Collection. It’s not huge, but if you have a real interest it takes some time to get round. It’s actually surreal reading all the notes, they state which year the garment came from, who wore and donated them.

If you want to see me create my projects, follow me on Tik Tok and Instagram.

As I stood admiring a wedding dress I wondered how the bride felt on that day. What life was like? And I bet the wearers of these glorious pieces of history never expected their clothes to one day be preserved for the world to enjoy. And wondered how they would feel about it?

These are a few of my fave pics, if you interested in fashion then is so worth nipping in. I just wish I had the time for the underwear exhibition. But I will save that for another day.

    • Louise it is, I just loved having the time to do this. To take in all those gorgeous garments and dream about the people who used to wear them x

  1. I would love to see the fashions at V&A, your photos are fab. I am going to Sudley House in Liverpool to see their collection of 30’s fashion belonging to a wealthy merchants wife. I can’t wait as I believe the clothes are beautiful. I hopeI can capture them as you have these.

  2. You know what, we’ve taken the kids to the Science and Natural History museums so many times. Each time I look over the road to the V&A but it’s just not their thing. One day I shall go on on my own! Great images and you’re just making me wat to visit more. #MySUndayPhoto

  4. Beautiful outfits and photos. I do love the V&A but haven’t had much chance to explore it. Like you, usually the people I’m with aren’t keen to visit.

    Merry Christmas
