Staying At Le Meridien Piccadilly London

I love London, but I don’t feel we set enough time aside to visit.

Why? I have no idea. The only reason I can I can think of, or offer as excuse is that we are too busy. The crazy thing is we are more than happy to fork out the cost of flights and taxes to fly to cities around the world. Yet right on our doorstep we have one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world.

Next year I am going to change all of that. The boys have never seen the Christmas lights of Oxford Street. They have only ever visited in the summer, yet London is wonderful all year round. So I’m hoping that next year we will be placing more of a spotlight on London. I want the boys to feel the excitement I feel about our wonderful capital.

Last week I headed down to London for a girls trip with the lovely Karen. We had an event to attend and decided to turn it into a bit of a chilled shopping trip. Of course on such girls weekends the hotel has to be fabulous, so we stayed at the Le Meridien Piccadilly. If you are staying in London then you should always do it in style.

The perfect location for a London hotel, the Le Meridien Piccadilly is located just steps from Piccadilly Circus, all the great shops, bars and restaurants. And although we were visiting for two days,  our feet never touch the ground. And that is what I love about London.  But regret we really never got much time just to chill around the hotel.

The Le Meridien is a grand old building

The sort that makes you wish you can go back in time and see it in it’s younger days.  I’m sure it would have many a tale to tell. Today it serves as a luxury hotel and offers everything you would associate with luxury city travel.

Our room was situated at the front of the hotel and had a wonderful view of Regent Street. The room was well appointed and about the size you would expect for central London hotel with comfy beds, and dreamy pillows, TV, iron plenty of bottled water and luxury toiletries.

Something not many city hotels can offer is a gym and pool. Perfect for chilling out after a long day shopping and a huge bonus when travelling with kids.

We only had time to sample the breakfast and I have to say it is up there as one of my fave hotel breakfasts ever. Yes a tall claim I know, but with all my favourite options available including smoked salmon, bagels and for a small extra charge eggs Benedict I struggled to choose. And there was a huge array of juices and energy shots.

And for the kiddies’ innocent drinks, yoghurts, pastries and the most delicious éclairs that would quite frankly have the Christie boys weeping. These were not only delicious but works of art, a real treat at breakfast time. And as there was a pool I ate my breakfast feast safe in the knowledge I could swim it off afterwards. Not something you can often do in London.

Would I recommend the Le Merideien Piccadilly? Absolutely, the location is perfect for seeing the sights of London. The rooms are a comfortable size for London. They are well appointed and have everything you need. And if you love the buzz of city life ask for a room at the front of the hotel for views over Piccadilly.

  1. What a beautiful hotel Sarah and sounds as if it’s perfectly located. I know what you mean about visiting London more with the kids. We did 1 night in the summer with them, and I would love to visit at this time of year. I really want to visit Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park x
