This week has been a funny old week, and a week I stepped into with extreme caution.
With a feeling of fear and a heavy heart. But thankfully on Monday it all started to come good and left many of is with a huge feeling of relief. Let me tell you I have learnt so much lately watching the people around me. You have to live for today.
Last weekend we enjoyed the snowy landscape and went for a long country walk. There may have been a little country pub in the middle of our walk. But there is nothing better than a long walk on a crisp day is there?
On Wednesday I head to Birmingham with the lovely Caro, Donna and Hibs100 for the HomeSense Christmas party.
We decided to make a thing of it and booked a lovely hotel. Hopefully one day we will be able to laugh about it, but said hotel was somewhat of a disaster. However when these things happen in life you generally meet some lovely people and the staff at the hotel really tried to help us, sometimes a bad experience is due to circumstances and people can really make a difference if you let them.
The HomeSense Christmas party was a great event, very chilled and the perfect opportunity to meet and catch up with lots of lovely bloggers. It is left me feeling somewhat festive.
Joe had his School Disco this week, and bless him he was so excited. He thought long and hard what to wear, and asked what when we were leaving every 10 minutes until it was time to go. Can you remember that School Disco feeling? The butterflies and excitement that started to build the week before. This week Penguin sent Joe some really cool t-shirts. Now Joe is a real Penguin fan, so was thrilled to wear one of said t-shirts and bless him, felt very cool.
My gin of the week is Brockmans gin
It has such a different taste. Brockmans promise their gin tastes like no other and oh my, they are so right. The list of botanical’s is a surprising one, it is bursting with fruit but it’s not fruit drink. But also had additional flavours such as almonds and liquorice. I had to describe it; I would say every sip is like a fruit explosion it is divine. If you love gin you have to try this.
I am now on catch up mode after a manic week, and am leaving the week with a huge sense of relief; things that have been weighing on my mind are starting to come good. So this weekend whilst the boys are on the match I plan to have a swim, lunch at the gym and take my laptop to get a bit of work done.
