When you visit Cameron lodges luxury lodge resort, you really don’t need to go out. There is so much to do on site to keep you busy. A wealth of choice for all of the family, no matter what your hobbies are or how energetic you may be feeling.
Being an active family I always feel we need to have plenty of options available to keep the boys busy and occupied. But lots of open space and quiet areas available should we want to relax and chill. Cameron lodges did not disappoint on all fronts.
No matter how you like to spend your time, there is something to suit all the family. This is my top pick of 5 great things to do at Cameron Lodges for the whole family, oh and one just for me.
Play A Round Of Golf
On our first morning the boys set out for a game of golf. I like golf, it is a great family activity and something we all love, although we don’t play as often as we would like. But I had other plans. So the boys heading down to the nine-hole golf course.
I’ve talked about this in another post, although they were playing golf together. They returned with very different opinions of who won! Cameron Lodges offers a nine-hole golf course, which was perfect for the Christie boys. Or should you be more serious player you can head to the professional 18-hole course. Nine holes were more than adequate for Chris and the boys. Especially Joe a he probably managed 7 before moaning about his tired legs. But the fact that they all retired in high spirits and full of it spoke volumes.
Check Out The Spa
Whilst the boys spent 2 hours trying to beat each other at golf. I headed for the spa for a leisurely swim and the best full body massage ever. The spa at Cameron Lodges is one of the nicest spa’s I have ever visited, it is so luxurious. And the most relaxing environment, with a huge choice of treatments. Or should you just want to chill in the thermal spa there are many thermal rooms, and you could easily lose a day. I do aim to have a little trip without the boys to spend more time in the spa maybe even a spa lunch and evening cocktails.
See The Local Area
Cameron Lodges is in a beautiful rural area and there are local attractions to see. We spent a wonderful afternoon visiting Luss. The scenery is breathtaking, and it is wonderful to get a glimpse of Scottish village life, even pop into the local pub for a glass of wine by the roaring fire.
Take A Boat Trip on The Loch
Should you want to see the sights from the water or air you can do this via seaplane or a boat on the Loch. We spend a glorious hour on the Celtic Warrior. And the views of the Loch and it surrounding islands were incredible. There is something special about enjoying a beautiful view from a boat, with a glass of champagne in hand.
Play at Being Robin Hood With A Game Of Archery
It seems archery is not a strength of mine. However our amazing instructor did have me hitting the target by the end of the lesson. Yet Chris and the boys seem to be distant relatives of Robin the great man himself. Not only were they amazing but they are still going on about it. Jack only had one or two attempts and hit bull’s-eye every time. And Chris grrrr! But despite my being the weakest archer in the family, we had a wonderful lesson. We came away feeling that the session had been productive as we had all learn something, and so much fun.
That really is the tip of the iceberg as far as activities go. But Chris and I are thinking we might sneak up to Scotland on our own this year, so I can spend a whole day in the spa and he can spend a day shooting. Which is something he tries to do as often as he can. The beauty of Cameron Lodges it that it can be a perfect family break, and it was the boys did not want to come home. Of it can be a romantic haven for a weekend away. This really is one very special place indeed.
