A Walk In The Woods, My Sunday Photo

Hoorah for half term,

Thursday was our first glorious day of what has already been an incredible half term. It may have only been 3 days but boy have we packed it in. We spent Thursday doing some festive prep, up to our elbows in glitter and gingerbread, and loving every minute of it.

After we had enjoyed a delicious hot chocolate with lashings of cream. We remembered the woods we pass every day on the way to school. You know, that place you keep saying we must visit, but never get the time to stop. It’s an amazing feeling knowing you have the time to do something just for fun. Yes, I should have done the housework, but housework v special moments with the boys? The boys win every time.

So we wrapped up, me in my wellies that quite honestly will not see another rainy day! But they have served me daily for 4 years in all weathers, they have done well. Sadly it is time to hunt for a new pair of wellies.

We spent nearly an hour scrunching on the breathtaking orange and red forest floor, Joe singing from trees and Toby running along fallen trunks like some kind of dog/lion. It was wonderful. And the best thing ever was looking at Joe’s happy contented face. When we arrived home he gave me a huge hug and said that was the best day ever. And that is priceless.

  2. Aw look at Joe’s face swinging and little Toby too. What a nice feeling when he said it was the best day ever. Just goes to show the simple things can sometimes be the best. Gorgeous pictures as ever Sarah x

  3. Hi Sarah, I like your style; fun over housework any day! I love the muted sounds in woods. It’s like being in a whole other world. And that is one happy dog and lad.

  4. What a lovely adventure. I bet it was worth the housework building up for that comment 🙂 I love the photo of the roots too. I wonder how old it is? #MySundayPhoto
