A Postcard From Dubai, Day 1

Share

Its day 1 and as I write my first postcard from Dubai we have had a fantastic first day.

Last night was a long night. We have never done an outward night flight before.  Arriving in the morning with the day ahead seems harder and the boys are exhausted. However we are here and its hot, hot, hot. Hoorah. When we arrived we had a bit of a chill and lunch before getting ready and heading to the Burj Khalifa for a trip to the top of the worlds tallest building. Omg it was incredible. It is sooooo high, the views blow your mind.

The atmosphere in the Downtown area is electric, yet everything seems so perfect, clean and polished. The service everywhere is excellent and the people of Dubai are the most wonderful people. Everybody we have come into contact with has been lovely.

A Postcard From Dubai Day 1

We are staying at the Downtown Rove Hotel which is like nothing we have ever stayed in before. The hotel has a super cool vibe and is the perfect place for an affordable yet cool break. I will share more about the Rove very soon.

We dined at the gorgeous Palace Hotel at the delicious Thiptara Thai restaurant. Not only is the food incredible, and the service outstanding. But the restaurant overlooks the Dubai Fountains which we got to enjoy as we dined and they were truly breathtaking. They were everything we imagined and more. I shared a little video clip on twitter if you want to head over and see how great they are. And I have more to share later.

But for now I am off to get some much needed sleep ready for an exciting day tomorrow. x

  1. oooh i’m so excited to read this. Sadly our itinerary does’t include the Burj but we are going to try to squeeze in a trip there ourselves. Hotel sounds lovely – can’t wait! Am dreading the flight! Need to be packing now but couldn’t resist reading this first. xxx

  2. I have loved following your trip over on social media, and Dubai looks an amazing place to visit. I can imagine the night flight was difficult arriving in the morning and having the whole day ahead of you. Hopefully you have caught up on some much needed sleep x
