Have you ever wanted a product, but settled for a different one? Well, I did that very thing last year. I so wanted a Nespresso Machine but in the end decided on another brand of machine. It was fine, did what it said on the tin. But I never got over the fact that it was not a Nespresso, every time I walked past the Nespresso boutique at Trafford Centre I kicked myself. I wanted to be in there trying out all the flavours. I wanted to display the pretty pods in a jar in my kitchen. And then last week when I was looking for a new kettle on the House of Fraser web site I noticed the coffee machines. So I did it, I ordered a shiny new Nespresso.
Prior to my machine coming I headed to the Nespresso Boutique to buy coffee, I tried loads, bought quite a few and made loads of new friends at the coffee bar. I have to say my favourite flavour is Vanilla. Although I have a list of coffee’s that I love and plan to re order.
I had also planned to write a summer cocktail post for the Iconic Light Blog. And after reading Julia at Rainbeaubelle’s Nespresso Cocktail recipe I decided that was what I would do. I mean we can all make coffee, right? But at this time of year it is also very useful to be able to whip up a quick cocktail; for long hot summer afternoons and guests.
I decided on a version of the Bailey’s Mudslide, which for me is a real treat. Although this is a cocktail it also loiters ever so slightly in dessert territory. And is perfect to serve after a meal.
The lovely people at House of Fraser are also giving one of my readers the chance to win a £30 House Of Fraser voucher to do a spot of shopping, although if you are anything like me you never need a reason to shop. Enter by completing the rafflcopter below and good luck x
