It’s been 2 weeks since my last round-up but this time last week I was traveling to one of my best friends houses in France, sighs. The last 2 weeks have been the most incredible 2 weeks; I have to keep pinching myself I feel like I am living a dream. It has been 2 weeks of good news, wonderful news.
We started out our half term by visiting my parents and going out for a lovely meal to celebrate my Dads birthday, we had such a lovely meal and laughed loads. And the weather was just gorgeous.
Then we set off to France, to the gorgeous Burgundy region, to the village of Saint-Fargeu and surrounding areas.
Anyone that knows me know that I am a country girl at heart and the French countryside is the stuff of dreams, beautiful winding roads, pretty doors and windows and peonies growing everywhere. I didn’t see a sunflower or lavender field which I was dying too, so will have to go back for that.
The Burgundy region is breathtaking, and the people are warm and beautiful. I have so much to share, we did so many extraordinary things, and I honestly feel blessed to have been included on such an epic trip. And to spend quality time with Chris and the boys, we had the best time together it was wonderful.
We rounded our week up by meeting up with some of our best friends and spending 2 days together in France, it was a wonderful, 2 days of laughter, lots of travel, and celebrating our friendships over the odd glass of wine and lots of great food.
It has also been a fortnight of wonderful news, HIBS100 announced me as their pinner of the month. I actually think Chris and the boys are sick of me going on about, any cheek around here and I say “excuse me you do know you are talking to Pinner of the month”, ha ha, to which they roll their eyes and walk away. But seriously I LOVE Pinterest, so it is a real honour. Being a very visual person this is one of my favourite social medias.
I was also just a little bit giddy to be featured on the Laura Ashley Blog, I was so nervous about this as lots of my fave bloggers are on there, including my gorgeous friend Jess. The standard is so high so I was a little daunted, lot of big footsteps to follow. But I am thrilled with how it turned out. I need to get a version of the post up on my blog; hopefully I will get it done this week.
I have also had a few pieces of incredible work news this week that I cant wait to share and a very exciting competition coming up arghhh, I was literally jumping up and down when I found out about this one, which was a tad embarrassing as it was in a swanky hotel in France. Yup, that’s me far to emotional at times! I swiftly remembered myself and sheepishly sat back down and sipped my wine as Chris rolled his eyes at me! Thank goodness he is used to my giddy, Andrex puppy like outbursts
And, arghhh more excitement, a couple of weeks ago I entered the Tots100 Dubai Dreams competition, here is my entry. And as we were sat in a beautiful country restaurant in France I got a message of the lovely Karen saying omg you have won. Fortunately we were just leaving and I was able to check the announcement and yes, we are going to Dubai, excited is an understatement, the boys are just so excited and I am one very popular Mum at the moment.
Joe has visions of playing in the snow with the penguins at Ski Dubai. Not quite sure if that’s possible, but at least he will get to meet them. And the amazing thing is one of my readers won trip to Dubai too that is what has blown my mind the most. Someone won a holiday to Dubai from my little blog.
And lastly on Friday night the lovely Caro, Amy and I received the final cut of a little project we have been working on with Nice’n’easy and Mumsnet. It was an incredible project we had had so much fun and I love the finished result. I am so proud to have been part of such a fab project.
It’s safe to say I have been just a little giddy for 2 weeks, lots of celebrating great news, and thanking my lucky stars that I took the decision to press publish on the 26th February 2014.
