Chetham’s, My Sunday Photo

Share

If you read my post on Friday you will know that this week we spent 48 hours Manchester, giving us time to see the sights a little more than our usual rushed visits. We visited some incredible attractions but I just wanted to share the photos I took at Chetham’s today, because this place was just stunning, its beauty blew my mind.

Chetham's Library was founded in 1653 and is the oldest public library in the English-speaking world.

I have always been a huge fan of books and find libraries such beautiful places; Chetham’s is without doubt the most beautiful Library I have ever been into. It was like stepping back in time, somewhere I would have loved to pull up a chair grab a coffee and spend time reading. We were luck enough to get a tour of Chetham’s, and spend some time wandering and taking photos, I was in my element.

It feels just like Hogwarts. Chetham’s is right in the center of Manchester, I cannot believe I have walked past it so many times and never knew treasures what lay beyond those walls.

I have a feeling I will now want to nip in every time I pass, I can’t describe how breathtaking it is, I suppose a requirement is to love books but if you do you will not be disappointed.

  1. How fantastic! Like stepping back in time. I was in Manchester too this week – although only in and out in a day with work – but I will have to look this up the next time I am staying in the city.

    • I know Su, I think you can look at the books but they are all so old and beautiful, I did see some gloves so maybe you wear those. I was so busy taking photos and looking around x
