My Word of the week it has to me the MADS as last night I attended the Tots100 MAD awards. It was such a surreal experience. After only a year and a half my little blog was a finalist in the schooldays category. Yes, I did not win but I genuinely was not disappointed.
Congratulations to all the incredible winners so well deserved, and as for the many that did not walk away with an award? The fact that we were there as finalists, makes us all winners.
What an amazing evening to have been part of. And to share the evening with some incredible friends whom are only in my life because of blogging made it extra special.
We stayed at the incredible Citybase, Collingham apartments in Kensington and they were fantastic, the perfect home from home in London. I will be writing a full review soon, but it was a fantastic location for exploring London.
In fact I would love to take Chris and the boys, I just know they would love the versatility of staying in an apartment for a few nights, it is just great to have somewhere to chill after a long day exploring London.
Home life has been all about settling back into a routine this week, and we seem to be managing that quite well. The boys are settling back into school life and autumn seems to be creeping up on us with the nights getting shorter and most definitely cooler. I am past mourning the summer now and feeling excitement for the season ahead, all those lovely long country walks and crunchy leaves.
We have so much to look forward too; we have a very exciting lodge break in Northumberland with Q Hotels coming up and the London Bridge Challenge with Diabetes UK. Which promises to be an amazing experience?
Chris and I are hoping to visit the Leeds Christmas markets and plan to stay at the beautiful Queens Q Hotel on our own. The boys are quite cross that we have not invited them, as they love the Queens but we want to explore the cocktail bars and do a bit of shopping so we thought it best that it was a child free trip.
We also need to fit in a lounge make over before Christmas, as I have ordered the most gorgeous new grey sofas, which will arrive in about 9 weeks. We really need to get into gear and decide on lamps, rugs and wall papers/paint colours so we can get started. I also want to renovate a writing desk but am yet to find the perfect style. However I am confident the perfect renovation project is out there waiting for me.
Next week is Joe’s birthday weekend he is so excited about being 10, and next weekend will be all about him reaching a decade and celebrating as a family, it is so lovely seeing him so excited about it all, and bless him he says he will feel old getting to 10.
