A Dream Tween Itinerary For Walt Disney World Florida

Share

We only have a week left to go until we visit Walt Disney World, arghh we are all so excited. Our restaurants and FastPasses are booked, and we are almost packed. I can’t believe it is nearly here.

When we were planning our trip I asked them both to decide what their priorities were? Which rides they really wanted to go on? Did they have a restaurant wish list? And if they could only choose 3 FastPasses for the entire holiday what would they be?

I am going to share Joe’s wish list today and Jacks next week, but they came up with quite different wish lists and priorities. I love the fact that Disney is so great for all ages it has a different appeal for different age groups.

Joe has spent hours reading the little book of magic over the last couple of months so was well prepared when I set him the task of planning a wish list. I told him he could choose any rides in any park and we would schedule those into our trip. I have had no input in this, I must say the bossy side of me tried to offer a few suggestions, but Joe was having none of it.

In the Magic Kingdom Joe’ top attractions would be:

  • Tomorrow Land Speedway
  • Splash Mountain
  • And the Jungle Cruise

From here he wants to hop on the Monorail to Epcot and then catch the bus to Hollywood Studios to have lunch at the Sci-Fi Dine-In. I did question why we didn’t just get the bus for the whole journey but he wanted to ride the monorail. The transport is something he is mega excited about, there are so many different ways to navigate Walt Disney World.

In Hollywood Studios Joe has chosen

  • Toy Story Mania
  • Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular
  • And the Studio Backlot Tour

Joe’s chosen must do’s at Animal Kingdom are:

  • Kilimanjaro Safari
  • The Kali River Rapids

One Place Joe wants to spend a little time is Typhoon Lagoon; he wants to surf in the surf pool then enjoy a trip around the lazy river to chill. Kids just love water don’t they? And our two are no exception. They are so excited to visit the water parks and have spent quite some time planning how they will spend their day splashing around.

He is also looking forward to visiting Epcot and putting his driving skills to test on Test Track, and explore Spaceship Earth. I must say I love spending a day at Epcot it is such a different experience strolling around the world showcase to that of the rest of the parks.

Joe is so looking forward to retiring to Downtown Disney for dinner at Planet Hollywood one evening, again for us this is a highlight of our trip. Downtown Disney is so vibrant and the perfect way to end a  day.

Another thing on his must do list is a trip down the river on one of the new Amphicar tours at the new Boat House restaurant. The boys have gone on and on about these since they saw them on the Disney Blog and are desperate to take a trip in one of these incredible cars.

I have clearly trained him well as he has also decided the 3 rides he would like to book a FastPass for are Splash Mountain, Tomorrow Land Speedway and Toy Story Mania. He needed no prompting at all for this and had highlighted the rides that are the top of his list for our trip.

So there you have it Joe’s dream itinerary at Disney. Luckily I have booked FastPass plus for most of his choices through my Disney Experience, it will probably take 5 days to get around this little lot, but what an exciting prospect.

It is reassuring  to know I have got it right. It is  incredible to see how they enjoy such a different experience every time they visit Walt Disney World and I can’t wait for next week to live the tween dream through Joe’s eyes as I know it is going to be so very different from our last visit.

  2. I’m chuckling at the thought of all of this. I’d need a nap halfway through 😉 Can’t wait to hear what you thought of it. Try some of the things on offer in Kissimmee, zip lines and Alligator safaris maybe? Use your fast passes for Toy Story, and get there really early, honestly the Q’s are huge! The Kali River Rapids are amazing on a hot sticky day!

  3. Wow that looks an amazing day and what a great idea to ask the boys what they want to do. The Sci Fi Diner is amazing. Its a surreal atmosphere as its really quiet in there, as everyone is eating and watching the film clips. It was one of our highlights from our trip 2 years ago. I can imagine you will crawl into bed after doing all that Sarah xx
